My grandfather’s family name was Wood. ( he died in 1953)
I believe he had a builders’/ decorators yard in the town.
Does anyone know where it might have been?There was a Mr Wood who was a plumber and lived in Millfield Gardens,Hexham, I seem to remember his father was in the building trade.Sorry if this is a bit vague. Philip Clark.
Could you give your grandfather’s Christian name please, and date of birth. It would be useful to find him in the censuses and on the 1939 register.
