This gentlemen is my 3x great uncle and I am trying to find out more information about him. He served in the Northumberland fusiliers in the 2nd boer war and then the Durham light infantry in the 1st world war. He was a bank manager in Hexham and was addressed as captain referring to his rank post ww1. I am trying to find his grave I think he was cremated but can’t find any information on this. Any information or pictures would be appreciated he married in 1907 in Hexham to Hannah Rhodes moralee. He has his name on the abbey for boer war.
He died in Corbridge on 18th December 1964, and is recorded in the Book of Remembrance at Newcastle West Road Crematorium https://www.remembrance-books.com/Newcastle/book-of-remembrance.html#page/704
The staff at The Crematorium should be able to tell you from their records whether his ashes were scattered at the Crematorium or returned to his family for scattering/burial elsewhere. There are some contact details here https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/services/births-deaths-and-marriages/bereavement-services/west-road-crematorium
