I have a picture of my grandmother and great grandmother in front of Robinson & Co. Hosiers and Drapers in a street in Hexam. They both presumably worked in the shop with the number 7 over the front door. I was wondering if records show on which street this shop was located.

There was certainly a Robinsons drapers shop in Hexham, in Fore Street, but it was at number 22/24 as far as I can see.

Did your Mary Ann and Mary Hannah live in Haydon Bridge in 1901 and did Mary Hannah marry Tom Ritson?

Do you know approximately when the photograph was taken?

It might be helpful if we could actually see the photograph – if I give you my email would you be willing to let me have a look at it?

Oh my, I missed your reply. The answer is yes grandmother Mary Hannah Hetherington married Thomas Friend Ritson.

I am not sure how to upload a picture to this forum. If you send me your email, I will most surely send a picture. I also have images of T F Ritson as a joiner/cabinet maker in Hexam.

Could you send the photo of your grandmother and great grandmother to secretary@hexhamhistorian.org, and then we can take a look and possibly identify the location.
