Hello …. I’m looking for some information please about Underwood Cottage in Hexham, listed in the 1939 Register, which I believe may have been employees accommodation attached to a larger property?
The cottage was occupied at the time by the Blakey family, John Blakey was a gardener.
The family had been there around 10 years and were initially housed in a converted railway carriage until the cottage became available. I’ve been told there were three railway carriages in a line each with it’s own garden?
I’d be very grateful for any information or photographs anyone might have. Many thanks, Sue.

It seems that the cottage and carriages may have been sited in the Riding Mill area.
