GuestI have my great grandparents wedding photo from 1906. It shows the families outside what I presume is the brides house. I have a second photograph of my great grandmother alone outside the house. The marriage certificate gives her address as Wark Mill, Wall, North Tyne.
Can anyone help me locate the mill, or its site, now?
Happy to share photos.

Guestit would be useful to know your g-grandmother’s maiden name in order to locate her in the 1901 census. If she was living in the same place this might make it easier to locate.

GuestHello, thank you for your interest. My grandmothers full name was Elizabeth Alice SAINT. DOB 26 December 1884. I can forward photographs of the mill and marriage certificate if that helps.
Thanks

ParticipantSorry for the delay – for some reason I didn’t get a notification of your reply.
In the 1901 census Elizabeth and her father were living at Cocklaw Fulling Mill, a couple of miles north of Wall (just south of Chollerton). If you look at this old map of the area https://maps.nls.uk/view/102346452#zoom=6&lat=8253&lon=6799&layers=BT you will see that this is named as Cocklaw Walk Mill (Fulling).
So I think the answer is that the word you have read as Wark on the certificate is actually WALK.
You can see the exact location on a current Ordnance Survey map here https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/map-search?clearresults=true and entering the number 1156625
I hope this is helpful

GuestHello Jennifer, thank you again for all your help. I visited the location you suggested and found the cottage in the photo. It was wonderful to stand in the same spot and imagine the spot all those years ago and the people who lived there.
Thanks so much for helping me out.
