The clue photo (on the left above or first image) is from the 1960s of the West Road (B6531) Shaftoe Leazes looking N, just past the West End Methodist Church, with Leazes Terrace on left, Westbourne Grove on the right with all the water flooding down, and Portland Gardens straight ahead. The second image from 1993 is looking S down Portland Gardens to the same junction. The third image is a screen-capture from the current Google Street view of the same area (click on the image to look at the scene in your browser).
