Here is a bit more of the frieze detail surrounding this month’s clue:

The clue pictures are of the frieze on the HSBC building at the top (south end) of Fore Street.
Designed for the Midland Bank in 1896, the frieze is constructed from red sandstone, and shows the coins of the currency at that time. Now a Grade II listed building.
Has that reclining cherub pointing a finger been renovated recently? It look rather like Boris Johnson!
