The remains of the gothic-style Dukesfield Arches that appear on the cover of HH25 mark the site of what was quite possibly the largest lead smelting mill in Europe for much of the 18th Century, and was created by Sir William Blackett. The Blackett family played a major role in the development of the early lead industry.
